1. Your booking is only confirmed once we have received your deposit (or full payment including damage deposit if booking less than one month in advance) and we have confirmed via email that your holiday is booked for your specified dates.
2. Arrival/Departure
Arrival is from 4:00pm and check-out is 10:00am. Early arrival or late check-out may be possible if you check with us in advance of your holiday, although we cannot guarantee this. Upon check-out, please make sure all doors and windows are locked, and the key returned to the key safe. There will be a £50.00 charge for any keys not returned at the end of your holiday.
3. Cancellation
Should you need to cancel your booking please let us know us as soon as possible. We will not charge a fee if you wish to change your booking to another available date (save for any difference in the weekly rate).
If you cancel your booking within one month of the start of your holiday, the cancellation fee is 100%. If you cancel more than one month before the start of your holiday, the cancellation fee is the 25% deposit you have paid. We recommend you take out holiday insurance that will cover your costs should you have to cancel your holiday at the last minute.
In the unfortunate case that we have to make changes to or cancel your booking (e.g. if the property is suffering from damage that requires urgent repair), we will refund all amounts paid by you in respect of your booking via faster payment to the account from which this was paid. This will be our only obligation or liability to you in such circumstances.
4. Services
We cannot be held liable if services (water/electricity/internet) in the cottage fail. However, please let us know as soon as possible us if there is a problem and we’ll try our best to get it fixed as quickly as possible.
5. Smoking
Smoking is not permitted.
6. Accessibility
The cottage is not wheelchair accessible and the narrow/steep stairs may not be suitable for those with limited mobility. Guests must accept responsibility for their own, their children’s and their pet's safety; the owners cannot be held responsible for injuries. We would advise anyone with pet allergies to avoid staying at Morningsyde Cottage.
7. We are a pet friendly property, however if there’s any additional cleaning required as a result of dog hair or mess at the end of your stay, or any damage to the property caused by mischievous hounds we may need to charge you for this.
8. We do not offer charging facilities for electric vehicles. Guests are not permitted to charge vehicles from the mains electric. Meter readings are taken following every stay. We reserve the right to make additional charges should we receive an unusually high meter read following a reservation.
9. Covid19
In the unfortunate event you experience symptoms of Covid19 whilst staying at Morningsyde you should follow the current government guidance in place and:-
'Immediately self-isolate where they are to minimise any risk of transmission, and request a test. If they are confirmed to have coronavirus (COVID-19), they should return home if they reasonably can. They should use private transport but only drive themselves if they can do so safely. If a guest cannot reasonably return home (for example because they are not well enough to travel or do not have the means to arrange transport), their circumstances should be discussed with an appropriate health care professional and, if necessary, the local authority. The guest will be expected to pay the costs of an extended stay in all but exceptional circumstances'.
Should you be required to self isolate whilst staying at Morningsyde we will need you to reimburse the cost of any bookings we have had to cancel due to this and the cost of a deep clean following your stay
